As a board certified pain management and rehabilitation physician, Manuel Lopez, brings a decade of medical experience to the Coastal Spine and Pain Center team. Dr. Lopez completed his physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) residency and his ACGME pain fellowship at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan. At Wayne State, he served as Chief Resident of the PM&R residency program in addition to establishing and directing an electrodiagnosis conference series for the program. He served as a member of the Internal Review Committee for the university’s PM&R department. Dr. Lopez received his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Before relocating to Jacksonville, Dr. Lopez was a pain management physician at a private practice and served locum tenens in Scottsbluff, Nebraska and Elko, Nevada. He has served as Vice President of the Pain Chapter of Puerto Rico College of Surgeons. Dr. Lopez is bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish.
